What is PRANA Healthworks?

PRANA Healthworks is a company dedicated to improving overall health, vitality, and lifestyle through the integration of massage therapy and the practice of yoga.  A variety of muscle release techniques are employed during massage to increase muscular range of motion.  Instruction in the practice of yoga enhances flexibility, detoxifies the body, and teaches personal awareness of the mind/body link.  When used in tandem with proper breathing techniques, these methods bring about a transformation in your overall quality of life.  PRANA Healthworks offers a comprehensive approach to personal stress management, sport specific goals, sports injury rehabilitation, and chronic pain management.

Who is PRANA Healthworks?

The concept behind PRANA Healthworks grew out of a realization I had following a high speed bicycle crash that left me battered, bruised, and in a great deal of pain. Rather than taking prescription pain medications, I turned to rhythmic breathing and meditation. From that experience, I experienced first hand, the power of focused breath and the PRANA (energy) associated with it. Having been a yoga practitioner for some years prior to the accident, I was determined to take charge of my own rehabilitation and regain the strength and flexibility I had before. The results were nothing short of miraculous for me. Not only was I able to manage the pain of my injuries with focused breathing and meditation but through skilled massage therapy and the practice of yoga, my muscular strength and range of motion returned to equal or better levels than before. This started me on a quest to further my knowledge of the human body and how our daily demands of movement effects its structure. This new found passion for knowledge led me to become a certified massage therapist and a registered yoga teacher. My dedication to this career is enriched daily by the lives of those I come in contact with. As with anything in life, there are no guarantees; but if I can assist those in need to discover how to improve their mobility and their day to day lives, then I have achieved success. It was for this purpose that PRANA Healthworks was formed.
